Laboratory Testing
At PLC, we believe in precision and consistency. When testing candles, we advise setting up an environment that allows for accurate results. Here's our recommended approach:
- Wick Preparation: Begin by trimming the wicks to a consistent 5mm. This ensures uniformity.
- Batch Testing: For a comprehensive understanding, always test at least 3 candles from each batch.
- Optimal Environment: Aim for a room temperature of around 20°C. It's crucial to close all windows and doors, ensuring no external breezes that could alter results.
- Documentation: We cannot emphasize this enough – always document your testing. Use a camera or video recorder to capture the process. This not only aids in refining your product but also serves as tangible evidence of diligent safety testing.
Classification, Labelling and Packaging
CLP Regulation is pivotal in candle manufacturing, standardizing safety warnings on products. Both candles, reed diffusers and wax melts require CLP-compliant labels, which can be affixed to the product's base or back.
